Commemorating the 250th anniversary of Telemann’s death with Telemann solo fantasias for each instrument, including a newly rediscovered fantasia for viola da gamba!

March 26, 2017 Santa Cruz Baroque Festival, Santa Cruz, CA. We're celebrating Early Music Month with rousing Baroque folk and dance music from Scotland, Ireland, and England. With room to enjoy this music by dancing in the aisles, listen to arrangements of traditional folk tunes, dance suites, and trio sonatas. Performed by Musica Pacifica and featuring an exciting range of music played on recorder, violin, viola da gamba, harpsichord, and percussion, this concert is not one to be missed.

(Formerly "Chiesa and Camera".) Grammy-nominated countertenor Ryland Angel joins Musica Pacifica in a stunning program highlighting the connections between the sacred and the secular during the Italian Middle Baroque. The program features appealing sacred motets of Alessandro Scarlatti and Alessandro Stradella, as well as complementary instrumental works by these composers and their contemporaries.
