This program, by local favorites Musica Pacifica (joined by divine soprano Sherezade Panthaki), brings you a full feast of music such as would have been enjoyed in a typical Parisian salon of the time: colorful suites and sonatas by Jean-Philippe Rameau and Jean-Marie Leclair, one of Georg Philipp Telemann’s beloved “Paris” quartets, and gorgeous vocal music from Antonio Vivaldi, Georg Frideric Handel, and Louis-Nicolas Clérambault.

Eat your strudel and drink an espresso before (COVID restrictions) you come to join Musica Pacifica in a journey of Italian virtuosity! Italian music was a strong influence throughout much of Europe, and you will experience the delicacies and the caffeinated exuberance of Italy as interpreted by Germanic composers on the other side of the Alps. We will present works by Telemann, Bach, Buxtehude, Vivaldi, Merula, and others.
On Friday June 3 at 1:30 pm in Berger Center, Music at Oakmont is delighted to welcome back the highly-praised Baroque music ensemble Musica Pacifica. The group will present a fascinating program entitled “Strudel with Espresso,” and will feature recorders, violin, viola da gamba and harpsichord and the works of Telemann, Buxtehude, Bach, Sammartini, Schmelzer, Vivaldi and others.
St. Alban’s Episcopal Church presents Third Sunday Concert Series on the third Sunday of every month in the parish hall, and has moved these concerts to an online platform due to COVID.
Musica Pacifica will be featured on the November 2020 stream in this series.
